Mele Miller is a dynamic financial equity strategist with nearly three decades of expertise as a banking and non-profit executive. As CEO and Founder of RiteSize Consulting, she leads a skillful team of strategists that harness decades of leadership and economic development capability to transform company culture and operating systems for sustainable wealth parity. As a sought-after speaker, Mele is known to share her own transformative experiences such as homelessness, hunger, abuse, and systemic racism to connect community and ignite positive change.
Mele earned a BA with Honors in Studio Art and Math from Univ. of Puget Sound, graduate degree with honors from Pacific Coast Banking School, graduate certificates in Leadership from UW – Foster School of Business and DEI Corporate Change Management from Cornell. Mele is also nationally recognized for her research on the Affordable Housing Crisis in Seattle.
Based in Seattle since 1997, Mele is a wife and mother of three boys, deeply involved in mentoring, women’s health programs, and community development initiatives. She’s chaired the United Negro College Fund Leadership Council, serves on the Seattle NAACP Economic Development Council, and mentors with ColorComm, supporting women of color in professional communications.
Mele Miller is a dynamic banking and nonprofit executive, financial equity strategist, and adept navigator of enterprise operations culture. She carries nearly three decades of experience implementing successful growth, change management, and social justice strategies for some of the largest banks and credit unions in the country (US Bank, KeyBank, BNP Paribas, and Seattle Credit Union to name a few). As CEO and Founder of RiteSize Consulting, Mele leads a skillful team of strategists that harness decades of leadership and economic development expertise to permanently unlock financial mobility. RiteSize helps leaders transform operating systems to deliver on their promise of sustainable wealth parity.
Beyond business, Mele transcends conventional narratives as a compelling storyteller. Her magnetic presence as a sought-after speaker stems from the ability to intimately draw audiences into transformative moments, charting a path from overcoming homelessness, hunger, abuse, and systemic racism to emerging as a finance powerhouse. Mele shares this journey with infectious joy, humor, and an unwavering commitment to catalyze a continued call to action, igniting change in the community.
Mele earned her BA in Studio Art and Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, WA), graduate degree from the Pacific Coast Banking School, graduate certificate in Executive Leadership from the University of Washington – Foster School of Business, and graduate certificate in DEI Corporate Change Management from Cornell. Mele graduated with honors from both degree programs and was recognized nationally with the publication of her research on the Affordable Housing Crisis in Seattle in 2019. Although Mele is originally from Oahu, Hawaii, she has made her home in Seattle, Washington since 1997. She is a wife and mother of three boys, ages 10, 12, and 13.
As a fierce advocate for women at all stages of professional development, Mele has mentored girls with Big Brothers Big Sisters for 15 years, mid-career and senior executives for 10 years, and leads women’s health and fitness education programs throughout the Seattle and South-Sound community. She served as the Chairwoman for the United Negro College Fund Leadership Council for over 5 years, is a member of the Seattle NAACP Economic Development Council, and a cohort mentor with the country’s largest professional communications network for Women of Color – ColorComm.
